11 Fun Facts About Me:

1. The only meal I know I can cook successfully without fail is tacos. Which also happens to be my favorite food along with guacamole. It's a good thing the boyfriend's favorite food is also tacos or he would starve.

2. I love reality T.V. and never miss an episode of The Bachelor/Bachelorette. I will in fact, turn down going out on nights it airs.

3. I have worked at the same restaurant for almost 9 years. I started working there when I was 14 and just never left! The owners have become practically family.

4. I need something sweet at the end of every meal. Love me some dessert!

5. I too, like Social Sara, am a former pageant girl.

6. As an English major, I of course like and appreciate classic literature but I would be lying if I said I didn't like a good beach read every now and again (actually, I almost always have one going!)

7. As much as I cannot WAIT to be done with school (understandable since it has taken me 5 years to graduate), I am terrified at the idea of not knowing where I will be come fall.

8. I mostly eat very healthy but if I could eat fast food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner without repercussions I would! I LOVE fast food!

9. I am a total Gleek. I heart Finn so much.

10. I would love to learn to play guitar.

11. When I was younger I competed in the National Jump rope Competition. You may laugh but it was actually pretty cool. How many people can say they know how to jump rope on their butt?

11 Questions from Sara:

1. What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I love to write but I am loving getting to know people who are just like me whom I otherwise would have never had the opportunity to "meet."

2. What one thing can you not get enough of right now?

Without doubt, Pinterest (as you could probably guess from all of my pinteresting posts).

3. What's your idea of a perfect weekend?

Waking up slow, having coffee and breakfast in bed or in a quiet diner, going on a long relaxing jog or walk, reading in a bubble bath, watching movies, and making dinner. Simple but relaxing, all I can ask for.

4. Have you ever met any of the bloggers you follow?

I haven't as I am still new to the blogging world but I hope to someday!

5. If you could do anything other than what you are currently doing career-wise, what would it be?

I cannot wait to be a teacher and all of my student teaching experiences thus far have been wonderful but I would have loved to have been a nurse. The only problem is blood and such makes me very squeemish!

6. What's your favorite childhood memory?

When my sister and I were little, my mom used to read us Nancy Drew books every night. Pretty sure that's why I'm so hooked on reading now!

7. What do you allow yourself to splurge on?

Makeup! I love the drug store brands for a lot of everyday staples but nothing beats some Chanel lip gloss!

8. In the last year, what accomplishment are you most proud of?

Graduating. Okay, I know this isn't happening for another few months but after 5 long years, several major changes, and a whole lot of papers, I had serious doubts that I would see my graduation day. The best part is hearing my parents tell me how proud they are of me.

9. What is your favorite food?

Tacos and/or guacamole

10. What are your top three favorite songs on your ipod right now?

My Heart Will Wait by Joe Brooks, anything from Glee, and Remind Me by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood

11. Do you have any home improvement projects planned for 2012 and if so, what are they?

Not yet as I will be moving out of my apartment in a few months but come fall the boyfriend and I are planning on finding a place together so I'm sure there are quite a few projects in my future!

Rainy OOTD

Yesterday was a yucky, slushy, rainy, windy, cold, cold, cold kinda day. The upside? Slushy, wet, yuckiness means the Hunters get to come out and play! Here is yesterday's OOTD!

Mini Bloggy Sale!

Hello lovely ladies!

As much as it pains me to do so, I have decided today that I must say goodbye to my beloved tan Tory Burch Reva flats. They are a size 7 but unfortunately for me, they are just too big and I struggle to keep them on my feet. Even more unfortunate (for me) I tried wearing them about 3 times and that is about 3 times to many to return them (You can see from the picture below how lightly worn they are). Sigh. BUT fortunately for you, this means I am selling them! These puppies retail for $195 but since I wore them a few times I am asking $140.

The second item I would like to find a good home for is my mini Vineyard Vines tote. I used this bag for a few months (though it is clean!) but then was given my Longchamp and have since been neglecting VV. I can't stand to see her sit in my closet longing to be carried so please help me find her a home! Retails $75 but I am only asking for $45

Back to School, Back to School!

I am self-proclaimed nerd. Let's just get that out in the open. I love love love school (well the reading and writing, HATE math), which is perhaps why I want to be a teacher? Any way, I am totally that girl who gets to class 10 minutes early to ensure getting a seat right up front. Tomorrow marks my last first day of school (as a student that is)!

I'll be honest, as pretty as this picture is, I am not looking forward to freezing walks to class. From where I have to park, it is at least a 10-15 minute walk to all of the buildings I have class in. Some days its nice, but until the lovely spring weather graces us again (and that probably won't be until May), it is usually a slushy mess! Oh well, I suppose my beloved Hunter boots will get good use!

I much prefer this gorgeous weather...

(This is my favorite building on campus! It's so old but gorgeous. Lucky for me, it happens to be the English Department building, aka where 90% of my classes are!)

Anyway, I have always thought that being productive is all about the space you are working in! I am dying yo revamp my desk area. Here are just a few work spaces I am swooning over:

Hey ladies!

So as you can guess from the title of this post, it is all about motivation.

I mentioned in my new years resolution post, one of my goals this year is to run a half-marathon. I really like (sometimes even love) to run, but I'll be the first to admit that my bed is just oh-so-warm-and-comfy in the morning and after a long day, the last place I want to go to is the gym. Though I also must admit I have never, ever regretted a good workout or run. When I have my days that I just don't want to workout though, I head over to my Fitness board on Pinterest. I found a great 12 week training schedule for my half-marathon (see below) and here are some of my favorite pins to keep me going!

I literally repeat this in my head when I start to get tired on my runs.

I must say, the best part of this fitness journey is getting to know my body and learning just how far I can push myself. Kind of cheesy? Maybe! But I still love it!

Florida Bound

If I didn't know better when I woke up this morning I would have thought I was in Antarctica. No really, 1 degree WITHOUT the wind chill?! No thank you! The silver lining to this frigid weather? In 4 weeks I am heading to Florida! The boyfriend lives there so every month or so one of us flies to visit and when the temp here drops to below freezing, I am very quick to volunteer to do the traveling! The whole long-distance thing is super suck-o, but since he is an aspiring golf pro, this time of year he has to be down south and until I finish school this spring, I am stuck here. So we do what we have to do and if that means a little mini vaca here and there, well I'm just going to have to take one for the team!

So with warm weather in my near future, I have of course already begun the wish list of warm weather outfits (and swimsuits)! Here are a few of my picks:

Oh, and perhaps I should mention this is the first time I will be meeting the extended family and I am a bit, (okay, very) nervous so anything thoughts/input/outfit ideas would be much appreciated!

As I told you all earlier, my guilty please is The Bachelor/Bachelorette. For those of you who also enjoy this bit on mindless television, I'm sure you all remember this lovely lady:

Um, can we say gorgeous? Plus she is so sweet and has the BEST style. Well I heard a rumor that Miss Maynard will be the next Bachelorette! I so hope this is true because A. She has such a sad story and so deserves to find a good guy! and B. Like I said, she has the best style and I could use a little outfit inspiration every monday evening!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great week. Just got home from spending a couple days in Boston visiting the bestie, so I'm super tired but I just wanted to post a quick OOTD. Off to rest up but stay tuned for more posts this week!

In need of makeup advice!

I am a makeup junkie. I can't get enough of it and the minute I see something new on the market I gotta have it. I am also always in search of products to achieve the flawless face. I have a somewhat uneven skin tone (sight redness around my nose and cheeks and light freckles) and I'm dying to find a way to get an even face without looking too cakey.

Right now I use either:

I tend to lean towards matte finished foundations as my skin gets a tad oily by the end of the day. Yet with winter, parts of my skin also get dry. FRUSTRATING. I like both of these foundations but for the price, I feel like I should love them and I just don't.

So ladies I need your help! What foundations do you all like? I would also love to hear what finishing powders and concealers you like too!

Boob Tube Babble

As I am new to the bloggy world, this is my first ever link up! And what do I get to blog about? Only one of my FAVORITE things ever: trashy TV! I live for the drama that comes along with no-need-to-think-nonsense that I can get lost in after a long day.

First: my all time favorite guilty pleasure...The Bachelor which premiered this week. I much prefer The Bachelorette as there is obviously much more eye candy and much less catty drama, but hey, I'll take what I can get. This season's Bachelor is last season's Bachelorette cast-off, Ben. He was certainly not my fav, but of course I will still tune in religiously.

Second: I am ashamed to admit this one but I confess: Thursday evening I allowed myself to be sucked into Jersey Shore. I never ever watch the Shore until I met the boyfriend who got me hooked. The best part? When Shore-talk comes up between us, he talks about them like they're our besties. SO funny.

Third: Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Safe to say I've seen every season of anything Kardashian. Love 'em. Can't get enough. Plus I need to see the whole Chris and Kim thing unravel. I can't help myself.

Fourth: Teen Mom. Enough said.

Fifth: Dance Moms! If you're not already tuning in, do yourself a favor and start now! Think Toddlers and Tiaras moms + talent.

Last: Battle of the Exes. SO excited! *side note: I want to be on a Real World/Road Rules challenge SO bad. I love extreme sports plus they get the cutest outfits! A little superficial of me, I know, but Under Armour stuff thats personalized? Yes please!
